The Blessing of the Animals is done usually in the fall of the year.

It is an ancient tradition in the Christian Church. For centuries the church has blessed people, places and the many things provided us from God’s great creation. Blessing is asking God’s presence upon us and those things we hold dear; asking God for wholeness in God and to offer thanksgiving.

Animals are an important part of God’s creation, and we have been charged with their care and protection. Animals provide us with so much; our pets provide us companionship and love and we are grateful to God for providing them to us. The Blessing of Animals service has become a way of giving thanks and praise to God, and asking God’s love upon them.
